Falling falling......

I had a weird short dream... a whole bunch of us (don't know the rest of them) went on this sort of trek under some heavy duty mountains in the jungle somewhere... that was the straightforward part... we did our thing and came out. The scary part was the climb up the hill. It was one steep ass sonofabitch! You could pretty much call it a cliff actually and it was about 100 feet high so very high and very steep and the only way to get up it was this very very narrow escalator type stairway (it wasn't moving but it looked like an escalator). Not only was it narrow, it was also pretty banged up... most of the stairs were either broken or also very steeply angled so it was treacherous as hell to say the least. Anyway, there were hundreds of us climbing up this stairway together and holding on to the railings for dear life. I was just reaching the top when the fellow in front of me seemed to drift off the steps and onto the rock face at the very top on the edge... he then swayed back and forth and on and on and finally lost out to gravity. It was pretty weird and scary watching him falling and bouncing off the rock face while doing it. Now I am not afraid of heights at all but watching the slow fall and the soft thud when he landed was some freaky shit. I nearly lost my balance at that time then I woke up. Now I'm sure this dream doesn't have any deeper hidden meaning but it was pretty wild just the same.

Damn dude...like watching someone bounce off the rockface? Ouch! And it doesn't stop till he reaches the bottom. Woah. Sounds like the "Stairway to Heaven" hike in Hawaii that I've heard people talk about. And I've seen someone bounce off of a rockface...again, in Hawaii. Once I was watching guys jump off a rock into the water...this was somewhere north of Makaha. There were two points from which someone could jump...the high one, and the higher one. Just as this dude was going to jump from the higher one, he saw someone else take off below him...and he tried to stop in mid stride. But he braked too late, and his momentum just carried him forward. So, there was this guy, who for the longest time just seemed to lean against thin air. And then he fell...he hit parts of the rockface on a couple of occasions before plunging into the water below. Everyone held their breath...hoping for the worst I guess. But he promptly surfaced and swam to the exit point, and climbed back up the rock. Moments later the LifeGuard came by and administered some first aid. Damn...crazy stuff man.
